BID Ambassadors – what do they do?

People often ask what the BID Ambassadors do. They are very recognisable in their green t-shirts and panama hats. From a visitor perspective they provide an information and a welcoming service. They help to promote Putney to visitors, direct them to the easiest train station, specific businesses, places of interest and events.
Their principle role is infact to visit regularly all the businesses within the BID Area to provide information about the services the BID deliver and to discuss any issues the business may have. The team are a vital link between businesses to ensure that businesses are getting the best out of the BID services and projects.
They are the eyes and ears of the BID and report various environmental and other issues to the appropriate authority, so that collectively we can ensure that Putney is the best it can be for businesses, staff and all users. They record what they see in the city on their handheld devices so that we can produce data about what is happening and work to resolve issues. The Ambassadors work with the statutory services (Wandsworth Council, TFL, Metropolitan Police) to highlight any issues that may cause concern such as graffiti, litter, illegal street trading, faulty street lights, broken pavements and anti-social behaviour.
When you see them do say hello, they will always be happy to have a chat.
