On Tuesday 19th January, Fleur Anderson, Putney Member of Parliament joined the weekly Positively Putney zoom call to hear the issues that are currently worrying businesses.
The key asks to Fleur Anderson were to lobby Government to
- extend the business rate holiday and VAT reduction to the end of 2021 (currently holiday only until 31st March 2021)
- Extend the property moratorium to stop evictions and limit landlords to be able to take summary judgements
- revise the job retention scheme date so that employees that worked in November and December are eligible for furlough (at present an employee has to have received a salary payment by 31st October)
Fleur shared with the businesses that she has managed to get TfL to change the loading bays on Upper Richmond Road to short term parking bays. The businesses on Upper Richmond Road have been asking for this for a number of years as they deem it will increase trade. This is now critical after the year they have had.
Positively Putney have been hosting Tuesday business support calls since the lockdown in March. If you are a Putney business and would like to join email Anna on firstname.lastname@example.org and she will give you the joining details.
