On Friday evening, the lovely Mr & Mrs Whitehall (parents of Jack Whitehall and Putney residents) turned on our Christmas lights in front of a spectacular crowd. They told us about a traditional Whitehall Christmas and how they like shopping in Putney Exchange.
We got into the Christmas spirit by listening to lots of wonderful local school choirs and performance groups on the stage, expertly compèred by Riverside Radio.
The inflatable human snow globe was a great hit again with long queues all evening.
New business – The Dentist – on Putney High Street gave out goodie boxes with a timer in to make sure children brush their teeth for the correct duration, and they also had a free face painter.
Bill’s restaurant gave out much appreciated hot chocolate as well as a hot gin concoction.
Local charity St Christopher’s Fellowship were pleased to talk to the community about how they create brighter futures for children and young people in care.
We were also joined by Putney Womans Institute, Putney Travel Company, the Artistic Gardener and 5th Putney Sea Scouts. All project managed by Clownfish Events.
Our photographer, Vineet Johri climbed up the church tower steps and took this amazing photo of Putney High Street.
