On Saturday 7 December, shoppers are being urged to buy local and support independent retailers as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday campaign.
The national campaign celebrates small businesses, a somewhat counterpart to the big retailers’ consumer events – Black Friday and Cyber Monday – that have become a permanent fixture in the UK shopping calendar in recent years.
Small retailers in Putney certainly welcome the boost and it’s an opportunity to offer shoppers new experiences and products that they can’t easily source online.
If you’re looking for some inspiration of places to visit for those last minute Christmas gift ideas, view our online directory with a list of wonderful independent businesses here in Putney.
Positively Putney recently produced a ‘Putney in Christmas’ brochure and delivered it to 15,000 local residents. This brochure highlights the great and unusual places on offer in Putney with the aim to encourage people to use their high street rather than take the convenient option of shopping online.
It’s a tough environment for small (and big) businesses at the moment so when you can, shop local, eat local and enjoy local in Putney.
