(Waste Not) – Want-Not

The title and the work chime with the contemporary ubiquitous ‘Keep Calm and Carry on.’ merchandise that has flooded out across the cultural landscape. The Austerity Bunting sits within this context of almost banal repetition.

An essential element of my work is that it is low impact. generated from everyday materials that are often regarded as waste.

I had deluded myself that I could compost old teabags, but actually I was leaving a lasting legacy to my profligate behaviour cuppa by cuppa, now there’s food for thought.
