If you are in Putney for Christmas you may like to know that, once again, there will be a free vintage bus service running on route 430 on Christmas Day, thanks to 1950’s Vintage Bus Hire. Last year, 455 trips were made with people going to and from pubs, friends and family, churches or walks by the river in Putney.
The bus will be staffed by volunteers using a 1950’s vintage bus. They do it for fun, goodwill and to promote their vintage bus hire. The service will run hourly, leaving Roehampton from 09:30 until 15:30 and Putney Bridge from 10:07 until 16:07. It will stop at any normal route 430 bus stops along the way.
It’s not a Transport for London or London General service. However the bus is run professionally under an operator’s licence, meeting current safety regulations. The bus is not fully accessible but there will be a conductor to help passengers.
