Christmas is the time for celebrating with friends and family and, with such a choice of restaurants on your doorstep, why go anywhere else? Putney has a range of popular restaurant chains alongside family owned independents offering all types of cuisine; a traditional pub lunch, an all-out Christmas buffet, fine dining French experience or authentic Indian cuisine – take your pick.
Here is a selection of some of Putney’s best…
Nominated for ‘Local Restaurant of the Year’ by Time and Leisure Magazine 2018, Isola Del Sole is dishing up a Sardinian Christmas this year. Authentic and popular, its menu features wild boar ragu and tagliatelle with fresh tiger prawns and cherry tomatoes. It’s a fine choice for any family that fancies getting nostalgic for Italian holidays past.
Easy-going, urban and rustic, Bills is offering a tasty 3-course festive menu this year. With its shelves full of colourful artisan produce that will make a few fabulous stocking fillers, its Christmas Eton Mess is a definite must try.
With its prime spot overlooking the River Thames, The Boathouse is one of Putney’s favourite locals. Its ‘Christmas Feast Menu’ includes hearty mains such as Hampshire venison with chestnut port and its puddings are rather colourful with a nutmeg panna cotta and spiced winter fruit Bakewell.
As you might expect from a restaurant that champions all things British, The Prince of Wales makes a big splash with its Christmas menu this year. Offering a 3-course spread taking everything in from venison and rabbit terrine, to Christmas pud via roast Lincolnshire Farm turkey or pan-fried sea bass. Cheers!
Family-run Ma Goa has been dishing up in Putney for over 25 years. Always popular, this top Putney Indian restaurant is turning out a far from traditional 3-course menu, serving up threaded Brussels sprouts with coconut and ginger and smoked venison samosas. Round things off with a scoop of spiced kulfi.
A true neighbourhood restaurant, Gazette offers a generous selection of Christmas menus this year. Family-friendly and very French, it is serving up a delicious festive canapé assortment for party groups and set menus for private dining. Its ‘Christmas Gourmand’ menu for Christmas Day looks divine.
For turkey, and literally all the trimmings, why not go all out with a Christmas buffet at Revolution this year. Filled with all the favourites and more, there is plenty to choose from.
