Shweta Razdan, Kashmir Restaurant

Shweta and her husband, Rohit own Kashmir Restaurant, found on Lacy Road. A favourite eatery of so many residents, we interviewed Shweta who is also a BID Board Director of Positively Putney, about her business and what she loves about Putney.

Shweta represents the independent restaurant sector on the Positively Putney Board of Directors.

Hi Shweta, tell us about yourself and your business, and why you chose Putney?

I am co-owner of Kashmir Restaurant in Putney with my husband Rohit; our restaurant is the only authentic Kashmiri restaurant in England serving a variety of dishes from Halal, Mild, Spicy, Vegan and Vegetarian. Everything is cooked fresh and in house.
We found that Putney is an excellent location with a diverse mix young, families and elderly group of lovely supportive people. Over the last 5 years our loyal customers have become our extended family. We also love Putney for being such great proximity to the River Thames, Kingston, Wimbledon, Fulham, Richmond and central London.

Rohit is Kashmir’s Chef and co-owner, and Shweta’s husband. They have known each other since they were 15 and married shortly after leaving school, they are a great team!

What do you love most about Putney?

The people. Their unconditional love for their community and their will to support the local neighbourhood restaurants.

Kashmir Restaurant serves exquisite authentic Kashmiri dishes, like this chicken tikka.
Rohit & a happy customer

Which is the first café/restaurant you will be heading to when we are able to socialise again?

Giuliano’s Deli Cafe. Apart from being dear friends, both Isabellla and Pepe are a lovable couple.

Which shop in Putney have you missed visiting during lockdown?

Also on our wonderful Lacy Road are Chez Stephan, our neighbouring wine store and hairdressers. I also miss Yum Sa, Putney’s amazing Thai restaurant on Upper Richmond Road.
