What the course is about
An online tutorial via Zoom to share the potential of printmaking at home and leading you through the experience of carving and printing your own block print in one colour. No drawing skills are necessary, you will be shown how to use tracing paper to transfer an image onto a lino block, however, more experienced artists can challenge themselves with more complex print.
Artist Catherine Greenwood will begin with showing examples of the versatility of table top printmaking without a press including Block print with lino or woodcut or potato on paper & fabric, Reduction print, Mono printing.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share your work.
Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
This course would suit complete beginners or those who are returning to art and want to build their confidence. Printmaking is an ideal extension to any other art practice. Catherine is a new tutor at Putney School of Arts having been a Fellow at City & Guilds School of Arts as well as teaching independently at her own Green Print Studio and for the National Trust.
