2018 has come to an end and 2019 awaits. New Year, new you?
• Would you like to work in your local borough?
• Would you like to spend less time commuting?
• What if you could spend less money on travel?
• What if you worked close to home giving you more time to do fun things or spend quality time with your family, or just have some ‘you’ time?
If the answer to these is ‘yes’, then why not get in touch with Work Match?
Work Match has helped over 1,000 local people into local jobs across Wandsworth and they could help you too. It’s a free recruitment service provided to Wandsworth residents by Wandsworth council. Work Match has a wide variety of jobs advertised in all sorts of different sectors; from office jobs to retail, hospitality and healthcare to construction. They’ll meet with you to gain an understanding of the type of employment you are looking for and match you to local vacancies.
Bethon registered with Work Match after losing her job and was keen to secure employment as soon as possible. Work Match met with her and talked through potential opportunities and secured five interviews with a range of local companies. Bethon and her Work Match advisor worked to build her confidence and prepare her for interview.
Bethon later received job offers from all five of the interviews. She has now been working at Battersea Power Station as a Resident Lounge Host since September 2018.
Bethon says: “The support I received from Work Match was incredible, they showed me how to interview and taught me how to talk about the skills that I have that I took for granted. The team at Work Match supported me all the way through the recruitment process and they still support me now. They’re a real blessing and I’m so grateful I found them”
