Last year we welcomed so many wonderful new businesses into Putney, how many have you visited below? Whilst the pandemic has been tough for high street stores we’ve been fortunate to see a wave of new retailers, hospitality and services investing into Putney Town Centre and becoming part of the exciting new fabric that makes up the Putney businesses.
Take a look at what’s arrived where and why not pay them a visit in store or online to support and love local for 2022.
Despite the difficulties faced these last couple of years we had an influx of amazing new hospitality, from chains to new independent businesses. Monies Coffee Bar has already become a staple of Upper Richmond Road, serving Curious Roo Coffee (already part of the Putney family with Artisan Coffee further down the street); Simmons Bar opened on the High Street with a fresh new vibrant look; Putney Wharf gained the brilliant Coppa Club which has something to offer everyone, including exclusive outdoor igloos perfect for parties and celebrations.
Kaalika Palace opened it’s doors last year serving delicious fresh indian cuisine plus Gaya Cakes, both on Putney Bridge Road. Mooboo became an immediate hit in the Exchange Centre, and we welcome the recent edition of Wasabi to the High Street, the perfect lunchtime treat. S.O.L Cafe joined us later in 2021 on Upper Richmond Road along with The Drop, a popular Southfields Coffee bar now with a new branch outside East Putney Tube.
We also had two new opportunities for those seeking jobs in the area, with The Job Centre opening upstairs in The Shopping Exchange, and Ingeus opened along Putney Bridge Road. Other services also arrived on the high street, including Whoop Whoop for those wanting a new hair do; Laser Clinic and Mi Vida providing comedic treatments. The Massage Company arrived on the first floor of the Shopping Centre and has made a fantastic start in the area, with a wonderful team offering a range of easy to book massages.
Creatures of Putney has recently just opened opposite Morrows on Putney High Street offering a full range of Pets services plus products. Last year also saw the much anticipated arrival of The Source Bulk Foods, offering Putney people sustainable waste free shopping for food and utilities.
Added to investment of new larger businesses in Putney in late 2020 and early 2021 (Lidl, Sports Direct, Get Set Go, Pets At Home see http://positivelyputney.co.uk/investment-in-putney/) it’s wonderful to see that Putney is activated and bringing in new business in these ever changing times. Watch this space as we see more of our current vacant spaces in renovation, plus the newly completed Assembly Office plus the old NatWest in development.
