Winter Coats and Filled Shoeboxes

There are lots of wonderful charity shops within Putney town centre who will always willingly accept donations. This year we have two businesses doing special initiatives for Christmas as well.

For the 8th year, London branches of Chestertons including both Putney branches ( 153 Upper Richmond Road, and 76 Lower Richmond Road) are donation points for the Calling London Winter Coat drive. The impact of the pandemic has meant the demand for winter coats is higher than ever, with so many families facing financial difficulties. Calling London collects winter coats and jackets and then distributes them to over 30 charitable organisations – helping the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, those living in poverty, the elderly, refugees and children. Do you have too many, or coats that you have grown out of, if so find out how to donate your coats here.

South Western Railway 2021 Christmas Charity Shoebox Appeal will be taking place from 6 December to 11 December. A filled shoebox can be dropped to any staff member in Putney Train Station from 8am to 8pm. Or shoeboxes can be dropped to the Positively Putney stall at the Upper Richmond Road Christmas Fayre on 4th December. The shoeboxes will be for local charities that help the homeless, vulnerable people and families.
