The Putney Light Operatic Society is delighted to announce that our Spring 2020 show is Jesus Christ Superstar
Jesus Christ Superstar is a Rock Opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. It follows the last few weeks of Jesus’ life told from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. Whilst the story is a biblical story Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice have stated that they neither wanted to confirm nor contradict that Jesus was the son of God, instead offering a show that looks at the psychology of Jesus the human being, and those who followed or opposed him.
Helping to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Putney Methodist Church. Performances, at Putney Methodist Church, start at 7.45pm from 1-4 April with a 2.30pm matinee performance on Saturday 4 April.
