Christmas Festivities in 2019

This year, we hosted two spectaular festive events in Putney starting with our annual Christmas Light Switch-On Party. We were joined by Mr and Mrs Whitehall (parents of Jack Whitehall and Putney residents) who turned on our Christmas lights in front of a spectacular crowd. We got into the Christmas spirit by listening to lots of wonderful local school choirs and performance groups on the stage, expertly compèred by Riverside Radio.

Putney also held the Upper Richmond Road Christmas Fayre – new to Putney this year, it was a lovely community event. Local residents came out to support the businesses and join in the festive fun. With festive tunes from the brass band, mulled wine and mince pies; families were spoilt for choice with activities.

On Saturday 2nd December, Church Square in Putney became a Winter Wonderland. Local dance groups, drama groups and choirs performed on our stage expertly compered by Wandsworth Radio. The lights were switched on by Jess Eddie, British rower, and the Worshipful Mayor of Wandsworth – Councillor McDonnell. During the afternoon people could enjoy the snow dome, rodeo reindeer and festive stalls.

On Sunday 3rd December, Three Wise Men and real camels came to Church Square. This caused much interest amongst the local people. Putney and Wimbledon brass band will be playing Christmas tunes.
