In 2022 we successfully secured funding and support from Greater London Authority under the Business Climate Challenge (BCC) to help businesses reduce energy bills and cut carbon emissions. This was a unique opportunity for Positively Putney members to start to future-proof their businesses against rising energy prices and help London become net zero. Twenty businesses within Putney were provided with an energy audit worth an estimated £6,000.
The BCC supported businesses to commit to reducing their workplace energy consumption by at least 10% in a year. They received expert support including:
• a workplace audit identifying ways to reduce energy use
• bespoke recommendations including ‘quick wins’ for energy conservation, deeper retrofits, and a roadmap of actions to reach net zero emissions
• training sessions for relevant staff
• peer-sharing with other participating businesses
