Putney Business Annual Meeting 2023

On Thursday 15th June, fifty Putney businesses joined together to celebrate outstanding customer service, and hear about the work of Positively Putney BID over the last year.

It was a hot evening but the downstairs vault of Putney Pies was cool and welcoming. The evening started with Nicola Grant, Executive Director presenting on the work of the BID, thanking the businesses for their support and talking about the exciting projects in the pipeline. Nicola also shared the annual report.

Putney businesses have recently been mystery shopped for their customer service. Fleur Anderson, Member of Parliament for Putney presented awards to the businesses who scored highest. We had four businesses who scored 97% in the mystery shopping.

The first award went to Allan Fuller estate agents who have been trading in Putney for over 40 years. As many mentioned on the evening they have a very interesting newsletter and social media even if you are not looking to move house.

The second award went to Huttons, boutique gift shop who have been trading in Putney Exchange for 26 years. They were trading long before people could source unique items online and always have that special item that you need.

The third award went to Morrows, based on the corner of Putney High Street and Lacy Road. They have luxury socks in a range of colours, that can also be personalised, aswell as men’s shirts and luxury accessories.

The final winners award went to Starbucks. They opened on Easter weekend on Putney High Street, and were mystery shopped in May. They have been very well received in the community since opening, and are displaying the excellent customer service we expect.

A session followed led by Julie Grail on the Opportunities and Threats for Putney. This resulted in some interesting ideas shared by the audience.

With the formal proceedings finished, we enjoyed some wonderful mini Putney Pies and the view of the River Thames from the terrace.

All businesses are invited to the annual meeting, and it is an opportunity for businesses to network together. It is always a very pleasant evening.
