This summer, the Royal Academy of Dance is hosting RAD Debut! A week of free dance classes for young people aged 11–13 living in the borough of Wandsworth, from 11th – 15th August.
RAD Debut is designed for those who are new to dance or haven’t taken regular classes in the past 3–5 years. Sessions will be held across the borough; including Battersea, Putney, Wimbledon, Clapham, Balham, and Tooting , so participants can choose the location that works best for them.
Over the week, they’ll also work on a special piece called ‘Elements of Romeo and Juliet’, choreographed by Shevelle Dynott, former dancer with English National Ballet. They’ll discover how to bring characters to life through dance, movement and storytelling.
At the end of the week, all groups will come together to perform at RAD headquarters in a chance to show off everything you’ve learned and celebrate your debut.
