The performances included a variety of talented choirs, bands, and dance groups, all of whom brought joy to the event.
These talented groups filled the air with festive melodies, ensuring that Putney was immersed in the sounds of Christmas throughout the day.
The Light Switch-On Ceremony
Elsa and Anna, beloved characters from Frozen, made a special appearance to meet children and add magic to the day. They performed beautifully before switching on the lights on the 12ft tree in Church Square. The square was full of people, all gathered to celebrate the official start of the festive season together. The festive lights twinkled across Putney, welcoming residents and visitors to embrace the holiday spirit.
A Community Celebration
The Putney BID’s Ice Sculpture Trail and festive switch on was more than just a festive event—it was a celebration of community. The day brought together local businesses, residents, schools, and performers to create a joyful and memorable experience. Whether you were marveling at the intricacy of the ice sculptures, enjoying the beautiful music, or simply soaking in the festive atmosphere, the event captured the heart of what makes Putney so special. As December rolls on, be sure to visit Putney and support the local businesses.
This event is made possible by the BID levy funding from Putney businesses with some businesses additionally sponsoring ice sculptures. A big thank you to them all.
