Local Putney artists are invited to apply to paint Openreach boxes in Putney.
We have obtained permissions to paint in two locations, one on Upper Richmond Road and another on Putney High Street.
We would like to beautify and brighten our public spaces. The call to artists is open to all artists at least 16 years of age, with a strong preference for artists that currently live or work in Putney. Artists must submit an artist statement, a portfolio of past work and a design for their box.
The theme is ‘Putney’ and the work needs to be painted in a weatherproof paint. On the electric boxes, we are not allowed to have anything that’s applied indirectly like stickers, photographs or adhesive vinyl. We are offering to pay for the cost of materials up to £100.
Artists will be acknowledged for their work across digital touchpoints for Positively Putney including on our website and social media. This is a great opportunity to bring art that uplifts and inspires people across the Putney community.
