ARTHUR SAWBRIDGE
ARTHUR PLAYS VIOLIN AND ELECTRONICS
Arthur Sawbridge, violinist and composer, has been playing since his fingers were big enough.
In 2010 he swapped orchestras for pedal boards and dived into Oxford’s alternative music scene. Earning comparisons to Arthur Russell, Mark Mothersbaugh and Brian Eno, his work has been described as ‘palatial minimalism, composed in every sense.’ (OTR)
He has since taken his expansive soundscapes and intricate improvisations to Edinburgh, Ventnor and London, performing in unusual spaces, including farms, galleries, churches and seaside bandstands.
Now based in South West London, Arthur is looking forward to filling the beautiful acoustic at St Mary’s Church for this early evening concert.
