We’ve hunted down the very loveliest thick Merino felt for this workshop, so you can make yourself a pair of luxury personalised snuggly slippers.
For the upper part of the slipper, we use 100% Merino felt, coloured with all-natural dyes to achieve delicious colours. For the soles and insoles we are delighted to use hard wearing wool felt soles and insoles in ecru from Joe’s Toes so your slippers will still be keeping you cosy for years to come.
In the workshop, we’ll show you how to transfer the pattern for the upper onto the felt and cut it out neatly. Then you’ll add reinforcement and embellishment to the fronts, before aligning all your slipper parts. Next we’ll show you how to stitch them all together, and finally you’ll be able to heat transfer your own name label in gold onto the insole. Without that final touch, no-one would believe made them yourself!
You’ll need to pick the colour for your uppers in good time before the session, as there will be less options on the day. If you confirm the name you’d like on the label at least a week in advance, we’ll pre-cut a gold vinyl “Made by …” label for you to heat seal on to the insole of your beautiful slippers.
We’ll send you details of all the suppliers along with the patterns to make the slippers again, so if you want to make a spoil someone rotten you can make them a pair too.
