PUTNEY, LONDON: 17-21 February 2026
Putney Theatre Company announces its forthcoming production of the breathtaking supernatural play from Conor McPherson (award-winning author of The Weir and Girl from the North Country), under the direction of Ian Higham and by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
Named in The Stage 100 2026, Conor McPherson is amongst the world’s most revered playwrights and Putney Theatre Company are excited to bring to the stage this blackly funny, haunting tale of family and friendship, steeped in whiskey and stirred by regret and the need for redemption.
The Seafarer was first performed at the National Theatre in 2006 and to mark its 20th anniversary director Ian Higham says, “I’m delighted to be bringing this beautifully written play to the audiences of Putney. Conor McPherson is a born yarn-spinner and this exceptionally talented cast bring the characters viscerally to life, resulting in a truly unforgettable theatrical experience.”
