Favourite Businesses

On a very hot Thursday evening we were delighted that Fleur Anderson, the Member of Parliament for Putney joined us to celebrate with businesses in Putney. The last two years has been tough for all traders and those that have managed to survive are all amazing, but some go that extra mile and it is nice for them to be rewarded.

Positively Putney recently asked users of Putney what their favourite business was amongst a number of categories.

National Retailer

The favourite national retailer was Waterstones. We can all agree that this wonderful bookshop found inside Putney Exchange offer a vast range of books alongside excellent customer service. Alongside Waterstones in the national retailer category, H&M was the most popular choice. Offering a range of clothing for men, women and children, they can answer all our clothing needs.

Independent Retailer

Favourite independent retailer was Morrows, located on the corner of Putney High Street and Lacy Road. Owned by father and son, Graham and Philip Morrows and offering luxury socks and accessories.

The Highly Commended Retailer category went to Sporting Feet, Wilko, Oliver Bonas and Huttons.

The Source Bulk Food Store was awarded the favourite independent food retailer. Opening in 2021 on Putney High Street they offer plastic free alternatives. Waitrose won the favourite national food retailer.

Moving onto the Professional Services Business, this category raised some confusion as to what it included. However, the favourite was The Dentist on Putney High Street, with highly commended for Russell Cooke Solicitors, Mailboxes on Upper Richmond Road, and Leightons Opticians in Putney Exchange.

Restaurants

Finally our hospitality businesses which was hotly contested. The favourite restaurant went to HomeSW15 on Upper Richmond Road.

Highly commended went to Kashmir on Lacy Road, Tomoe on Upper Richmond Road, Gazette on Upper Richmond Road, Bills and Franco Manca on Putney High Street. Lots of great places to try if you fancy a meal out.

Cafe

Favourite cafe went to Blabar, the lovely Scandinavian cafe and retailer on Lacy Road. Highly commended went to Putney Pantry within St Marys Church and Gail’s bakery.
