National Dog Day

Today is the day you get to appreciate your beloved pooch even more. National Dog Day was founded in 2004 and is always on 26th August. It has since widely celebrated all breeds and mixes and types of dog, the big and the small, to raise the public’s awareness of dogs that have been rescued from shelters or homes.

If you have a dog you may want to consider paying a visit to places in Putney such as Pets of Home and Creatures of Putney where you rest assured dog specialists will take care of your dog’s needs.

You can fit in your dog’s health and wellbeing activities and make your dog’s day by taking it on a walk. Luckily, Putney has a range of exciting places your dog would love. Wandsworth Park, Leader’s Garden or along the riverside are great places to walk. Wandsworth Park is recommended for a slightly longer circuit, whereas Leaders Garden is good if you want to keep the kids entertained in the playground. Beware your dog may want to take a dip in the River Thames if you walk along the Thames path.
