Positively Putney recently interviewed five students from Roehampton University for the Santander Summer internship scheme. They were all excellent candidates and we would happily have offered each of them the job. Although, we had to choose one who is starting with us this week.
One of the questions we asked was what they liked and disliked about Putney and the responses were fascinating. Sometimes it is good to have your eyes opened by someone who does not see the place every day and therefore really looks. The positives were:
- clean town centre
- attractive town centre
- River Thames
- community very welcoming and friendly
- staff in shops very nice
- diverse range of shops
- great cocktail bars
- good choice of restaurants
Sadly, we do agree with the negatives but are working to eliminate them:
- poor air quality on Putney High Street
- lots of traffic on Putney High Street
- difficult to walk down Putney High Street
