Positively Putney had the pleasure of showcasing all that our vibrant town centre has to offer to new students at Roehampton University during their annual Freshers Fair. With Putney as their closest town centre, just a short bus ride away, many newcomers were excited to discover the shops, restaurants, services, and entertainment available right on their doorstep.
The Freshers Fair is an important part of the BID calendar as many students have travelled from overseas, with some visiting the UK for the very first time. The event gave us the opportunity to share essential information about the town centre and highlight how Putney supports its student community.
We also introduced students to Putney Street Angels, a friendly volunteer team who patrol the town centre every Friday night from 10pm to 2am, helping to keep the evening economy safe. Many students were reassured to know that Street Angels are there to provide a welcoming presence and practical support on nights out.
Our spin-the-wheel game proved popular once again, with students eagerly taking part to win freebies and discover exclusive town centre discounts. These offers were well received, and students left excited to explore Putney and make the most of their new local community.
