Our new look

Some of you will have noticed that we have changed our logo. After ten years with our logo, we felt it was time for a refresh. Following conversations and meetings with local businesses and residents, we have created a new brand identity and logo that we feel better reflects the character and spirit of Putney town centre. We are delighted to share it with you and will be gradually introducing the new branding across all of our marketing and communications in the months ahead.

The rebrand started back in September 2025 when we hosted workshops with various stakeholder groups. The purpose of the resident workshops was to capture resident perspectives on Putney today, their aspirations, and priorities for the future. Key findings were that residents felt Putney has high potential but is under-realised, Putney has much to offer with key assets being the river, green space, historic character and great community. Frustrations were Putney High Street was car dominated and limited independent retail.

We moved onto business workshops where we aimed to capture business perspectives on Putney’s commercial character, opportunities, and challenges. Putney has strong location, accessibility, and community spirit, but suffers from not being connected to a strong identity compared to other local areas described as having bit of everything and also nothing. Footfall is high, supported by commuters and residents, but engagement from office workers and younger demographics can be inconsistent. There also appears to be friction in converting footfall to sales. Businesses value the green and blue spaces, heritage, and high street diversity, but feel communication and awareness of local assets is limited. Businesses want Putney to feel vibrant, community-focused, and recognisably distinct. There’s interest in activations such as markets, events, creative use of public realm, and better integration of heritage and culture.

These insights fed into designing both a fresh new look and also a longer survey of all businesses. The information from the fuller business survey is now being incorporated into the new business plan for Positively Putney BID. Under UK legislation, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) are required to seek a business mandate through a ballot every five years. Our current term comes to an end in March 2027, and Positively Putney will be holding its ballot in October 2026 to determine whether businesses would like the BID to continue for a further five-year term.
