We’re incredibly proud to call Putney home—a place where leafy streets, the charm of the riverside, and a true sense of community make it one of the most picturesque and welcoming corners of London. Whether you live here, work here, or are just visiting, it’s easy to see why Putney is so loved. With stunning views, historic streets, and a thriving High Street, there’s always something special around every corner.
But one of the best things about Putney? Our incredible green spaces. We’re so lucky to have access to an array of beautiful parks, commons, and gardens—each offering something a little different, and all just a short walk away. Whether you’re after a weekend picnic, a morning run, a family adventure, or simply a peaceful stroll, Putney has a spot for you.
Here’s your guide to some of our favourite green spaces—how lucky are we to have these on our doorstep?

Leader’s Gardens
Tucked just behind the river and a stone’s throw from the High Street, this riverside gem is perfect for families. There’s a lovely playground, beautiful flower beds, and plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the view. Grab a coffee from one of Putney’s cafés and take a slow wander through.
Putney Heath
With its winding woodland paths and open heathland, Putney Heath feels like a true escape from city life. It’s popular with dog walkers, runners, and nature lovers—and you might even spot a few parakeets in the trees. It also connects to Wimbledon Common for even more exploring!

Recently renovated, the playground here is a hit with kids of all ages. This large riverside park is ideal for picnics, frisbee games, or a scenic stroll along the Thames path. Bonus: it’s home to a Putt in the Park mini-golf course for those looking to add a little competition to their outing.

Putney Park Lane
A hidden gem! This historic green corridor connects Putney Heath to the Lower Richmond Road. Lined with ancient trees and wild hedgerows, it’s a tranquil route that feels almost untouched by time.

The Pleasance
Small but perfectly formed, The Pleasance offers a quiet escape nestled among residential streets. It’s great for a quick breather or a sunny lunch break in peaceful surroundings.
Richmond Park
While technically just outside Putney, we couldn’t leave out one of London’s most iconic green spaces. With herds of deer, sweeping views, woodlands, and lakes, it’s a must-visit. It’s also perfect for long walks, cycling, and even horse riding. A true local treasure.

Barnes Elms Playing Fields
Across the river and easily accessible from Putney, these playing fields are perfect for sports lovers. With rugby and cricket pitches, tennis courts, and lots of open space, it’s great for both organised sport and casual games with friends or family.
Whether you’re exploring with little ones, walking the dog, going for a jog, or simply soaking in nature, Putney’s green spaces offer an incredible variety of ways to enjoy the outdoors—right on our doorstep. Let’s make the most of them and continue to care for and celebrate these special places.
