A big thank you to everyone who came and supported Putney’s brilliant businesses on Saturday 4th December.
This year we hosted our Christmas Fayre on Small Business Saturday on Upper Richmond Road, an area of Putney well known for its independent businesses. Many businesses up and down the road took part, and there were also stalls from other small businesses in Putney, including the Putney Society.
Throughout the day there was live entertainment. The Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band performed classic Christmas tunes to the delight of the audience, while Putney Methodist Church led the audience in a round of traditional carols. Putney Theatre Company performed a selection of original pieces from their upcoming pantomime of Alice and Wonderland. The fantastic team from Riverside Radio were on hand all day to broadcast the event to the rest of South West London.
There were plenty of things for children to take part in. Aside from our on-going Nutcracker trail, there were also performances of the Nutcracker by Storystock in Putney Hotel. Children were given the opportunity to write letters to Father Christmas and also to meet the man himself as he rode around Putney in his fancy new Cadillac thanks to Get, Set Go!
Take a look at the gallery below to see what we got up to.
