May Half Term Activities 2026

We have collated lots of ideas for you to fill your days this half term in Putney, read on to discover things to do.

The great outdoors

The weather is improving which is perfect for a walk or a cycle in our town and Putney Embankment and appreciate all putney has to offer . There are sone fantastic walking trails available online or click on this link for some trail suggestion.

After your adventure, you could visit Creams for delicious ice cream or head to one of our many cafes and grab a coffee and a cake with outdoor seating, these include:  Gails, Guiliano’s, Blabar, Lil Bakes, and The Bakehouse.  

Wandsworth Heritage Festival in Putney

As Part of the Heritage festival there are 2 exciting events happening here in Putney.

Walk : Remarkable Women In Putney; This guided walk led by accredited guide Gail Golding celebrates often forgotten and side- lined stories about women with a connection to Putney. Discover how all these women overcame the obstacles places in front of them. This is one for the grown ups, 18+

Open Church: All Saints’ Putney – Come discover the beautiful interior. Designed by architect GE Street, it is unique in London having all its windows designed by William Morris and Edward Burne Jones.

  • 10am – 2pm drop in. Tour at 12pm
  • Free event but donations to the church are welcome

Swimming Lessons

GetSetSwim! – If you’ve never visited GetSetSwim before, why not dive into some swimming lessons. They offer lessons for tots, kids and adults and holiday crash courses. Check out their timetable and book yourself onto one of their ‘crash courses’ this half term.

Ceramic Painting

Pitter Potter is a fantastic place to visit any time of year. They have a welcoming studio space where you can decorate and glaze your own pottery, their list of products to paint is endless and is a perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon. Maybe get organised and paint something for Father’s Day.    

Fun at the Library

  • Putney Library will continue on with their Saturday Crafternoons. on Saturday 23rd of May there will Pirates crfats for all the family.
  • On Wednesday 27th of May 10.30 am to 12pm there will be a Once Upon a Storytime Craft Activity. This is to celebrate National Share a Story Month. Free activities for all.

Art & Design

Putney School of Art and Design is a renowned art school that has new and exciting courses popping up all the time. They offer adult and children’s classes in ceramics, printmaking, photography and more.  They have a whole May half-term program of arty activities, look at the timetable here and book yourself or your children onto the classes!     

Art and cafe treats.

Keep your kids entertained and inspired during school breaks with Studio Art Cafe. They offer a full fun day of arts & crafts activities. During each holiday camp, they use different themes for inspiration.

Camps run from the 25th of May until the 29th of May

Hurry up as they have limited spots for 10 children per day. The camp is open to children aged 5 years to 10 years. Book here
